Ball State University is seeking a developer to build the next generations of data integrations. As a Data Integration Specialist you’ll take a hands on role in creating processes to transfer data between our Banner ERP system and a variety of other systems for campus. Some of the integrations you will be involved with and learn on the job include Oracle PL/ SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, REST Api, .Net, Python, Perl, and others. You will also play a key role in ensuring the long term success of key systems across the enterprise. Your role will also work collaboratively with the campus community to design and build process improvements across all business units. Position Function

Coordinate the movement, manipulation, integration, quality and availability of data throughout the enterprise. Provide Extract, Transform and Load ( ETL ), data integration expertise and support for the university’s databases and systems. Implement data management solutions within a variety of systems/applications. Working collaboratively with the end-users of systems to define system and process requirements, analyze business requirements and source systems to design and develop ETL solutions using a variety of toolsets. Responsible for the design and development for extraction and transformation mappings from source to target data stores. Provide technical support as needed for assigned systems/applications. 100% remote work may be awarded based upon experience and expertise of the selected candidate.

Minimum Education

1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university by date of appointment.
Or, in lieu of Bachelor’s degree:
2. Associate’s degree plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to two years.
Or
3. High school diploma or GED plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to four years.

Minimum Experience

One year of IT Experience with integrating systems or providing IT support. Relevant technology experience in a classroom setting may be considered as appropriate.

Minimum Other

Proven analytical skills to acquire an understanding of business process workflow; strong communication and organizational skills. Must be willing to own responsibility for critical information systems; must be willing to work evening and weekends as needed to support scheduled updates, and respond to unplanned outages on a 24 hour-a-day, 365 day-a-year basis.

Authorization to work in the US

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Education

Preferred Experience

Three years of integrations experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Web Services or .Net. Experience as a primary point of support on enterprise system in a university setting.
