Assistant Professor of Agriculture Education

Southern Arkansas University’s College of Science and Engineering is accepting applications for a 9-month Assistant Professor tenure-track position in Agricultural Education.

Duties: teach undergraduate agricultural education and agricultural mechanics courses; advise and mentor undergraduate students; supervise field experiences for pre-service students; provide service to the department, college and university, as well as Arkansas FFA; engage in recruitment and retention of students; serve as advisor for student organizations and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: earned doctorate in Agricultural Education preferred, ABD accepted; secondary teaching experience from a well-rounded high school agricultural science program is desired; demonstrated teaching excellence; excellent communication skills; ability to work well with people; have a strong desire to interact with students both in the classroom and undergraduate research projects; evidence of the ability to teach shop classes such as structures, welding, and electricity.
