Position Summary

Portland Community College is excited to announce the search for the Auxiliary Services Technology Support Analyst. This position is part of the Auxiliary Services team and reports to the Director of Auxiliary Services. This position provides technical analysis and problem-solving, systems administration and technical assistance, data security and compliance oversight, and support coordination for Auxiliary Services technologies including our POS devices, computer hardware, servers, end systems, software, printing, and shipping systems. This position will work closely with our vendors and IT teams to keep our systems online and working accurately as well as building and maintaining unique technology environments.

Candidate Profile

These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position.
Throughout the screening process, you will be evaluated based on the demonstration of these qualifications.
  • Analyzes and resolves computer hardware, software and network issues, repairs user workstations, modifies configurations, and replaces faulty hardware specifically for our department-based systems.
  • Functions as the key contact for all requests from a broad range of users for technical support at a designated location.
  • Provides consultation and support; communicates effectively to convey complex technical information.
  • Advises and assists with recommendations to departmental management and ITS on equipment purchases and training needs.
  • Coordinates contact with vendors as needed to assist with support activities.
  • Ability to support a variety of users with divergent needs and skill levels.
Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

Associate degree in computer related discipline (relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis).

Four or more years of work experience with automated systems in a complex network environment. Successful experience working in an end-user, customer facing role in a trouble-shooting capacity is required.

Starting Salary Expectations
The first two steps of the range are: $62,895 to $64,782 per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Work pressure and interruptions occur regularly. Project implementation responsibilities, daily tasks, and problem resolution activities must be prioritized and managed effectively and efficiently. Involves ongoing exposure to constantly changing physical and ergonomic environments. Ability to respond quickly to emergencies and special user requests in a dynamic, networked environment; and communicate effectively with distraught or reactive individuals. Ability to lift and work on equipment that may be located in tight or poorly lighted spaces. Lifting and moving of end-user computing devices weighing up to 40 lbs. is sometimes required.
