Job Summary:

The Department of Rehabilitation Psychology and Special Education is seeking applicants for a full time 9-month Teaching Faculty position in rehabilitation psychology/counseling. We are looking for a committed rehabilitation educator, who is dedicated to the full inclusion and participation of individuals with disabilities, to support our growing undergraduate program offerings, including our Rehabilitation Psychology Bachelor's degree and courses taught within the Health Promotion and Health Equity major and certificate in Disability Rights and Services. The selected candidate will provide excellent rehabilitation instruction to our students, will provide administrative leadership within our undergraduate program, and will participate in shared governance and service activities, as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Provides classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction associated with more than one lecture or laboratory course, assists with the design and execution of administrative functions associated with academic instruction and the development of pedagogy/andragogy or assessment tools and resources to support quality student learning. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.
  • 5% Assesses learner performance and prepares reports recommending instructional improvements
  • 75% Provides classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including grading
  • 5% Supervises the day-to-day activities of work unit employees involved in instructional support as needed
  • 15% Assists in defining the objectives of the program and plays a major role in carrying out program duties

Education:

Required
PhD
Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counseling, Rehabilitation Counselor Education, Rehabilitation Psychology, or related field.

Qualifications:

- Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counseling, Rehabilitation Counselor Education, Rehabilitation Psychology, or related field.
- Evidence of excellence in teaching
- Direct service experience in rehabilitation or closely related field
- Evidence of ability to work collaboratively within and outside the university
- Knowledge and skills related to teaching culturally-diverse and disability-diverse populations

Work Type:

Full Time: 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal, 9 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding
