Manages the day-to-day operations of a small or medium-sized university program or department. May supervise staff employees, student workers, programs or processes.

Job Duties

  1. Plans and develops procedures for administering a small or medium-sized department or program.
  2. Oversees program expenditures and ensures adherence to budget.
  3. Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluates performance.
  4. May prepare or participate in the creation of abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation.
  5. Reviews reports of budgets and activities. Prepares ad hoc reports as needed.
  6. May administer grants and grant-related related communications, scholarships and other operations.
  7. Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures.
  8. May serve as property custodian for the department.
  9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

JOB DESCRIPTION :

The Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operation and staff supervision of a comprehensive Recreational Sports program that consists of Intramural Sports, Sport Clubs and Camps/Family Programs . The Coordinator will also assists with development, long-range planning and assessment, budget, risk management, and maintains accurate records of participation. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Recreational Sports and Family Programs.

Job Duties : Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate undergraduate and graduate student staff.
  • Independently implement, administer and evaluate day-to-day activities for Intramural Sports, Sport Clubs, and Camps/Family Programs, act as key contact.
  • Assist with program management through use of IM Leagues platform, When to Work, Fusion and Connect2 software.
  • Cultivate an inclusive, safe, and diverse environment for students as well as student staff; address patron comments, concerns, behavior, and conduct issues as necessary.
  • Assist with marketing and promotions for the Intramural Sports, Sport Clubs and Camps/Family Programs .
  • Assist with development and administration of training programs for student employees, club officers and coaches.
  • Assist with creating, forecasting, monitoring, and allocating the various budgets associated with the position, which includes Intramural Sports, Sport Clubs and Camps/Family Programs ; purchase and maintain program equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with the scheduling of all Intramural Sports, Sport Clubs and Camps/Family Program facilities to ensure all user groups receive appropriate space.
  • Serve on internal and external committees, work groups and collaborate with campus partners to provide programs and events.
  • Assess, evaluate and mitigate risk for programs through direct supervision and management of programs; implement policies and procedures; maintain accurate records; create various reports, and contract agreements.
  • Evening and weekend hours are required.
Qualifications :

Bachelors and No experience

Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: No experience required.
