Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering: Laboratory Coordinator and Technician to be responsible for monitoring, maintaining and planning of the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering department laboratory spaces; as well as, similar tasks in Chemical, Paper and Biomedical Engineering.  The labs support academic courses, student project work and faculty research by housing the equipment and enabling operation for experimental and manufacturing tasks.

The Laboratory Coordinator and Technician will oversee the machine shop, be familiar with the operation of various equipment: manual machines, CNC equipment such as mills, lathe and waterjet, material testing equipment; plastic processing and additive manufacturing equipment. The lab coordinator will assist students in class projects and labs, manage inventory of all consumables for lab equipment and project use, maintain and repair lab equipment; assist with design and fabrication of special use parts/equipment including working with faculty on the setup of new equipment.

Required: Background in mechanical or manufacturing engineering and a minimum of one year of experience in lab or machine shop equipment operations.

Consideration may be given to candidates with Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology, industrial experience in a production and/or design environment including general maintenance skills, familiarity with manufacturing equipment, lab procedures, and records maintenance, and experience in an instructional environment (academic or industrial training program).
