Position Summary
The mission of the Information Technology Division is to develop the long-term infrastructure, services, and strategy necessary to support the University's mission of learning, discovery, and engagement. The IT Division has the stewardship responsibility for core IT assets on campus and the obligation to provide the services, training, and community building necessary to realize the benefits of those investments across the San Diego State University community.
Instructional Technology Services (ITS) provides support and leadership to the university in the successful uses of technologies to enhance teaching and learning, to create effective learning environments, and to facilitate research and strategic initiatives. Instructional Technology Services is made up of twenty-two staff and four administrators.
Under general supervision of the ITS Associate Director, the Administrative Support Coordinator provides administrative support to the department and performs recruitment, training, and scheduling of ITS Student Assistants. This position also serves as a department liaison with the Center for Human Resources for recruitment, payroll and benefit issues. As a member of ITS, this position interacts on a daily basis with ITS service areas, and works with SDSU faculty, staff, student assistants and administrators as required.

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.
Education and Experience
Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.
These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent collaborative skills.
- Experience in an administrative role, particularly in a higher education setting working with technology.
Specialized Skills:
- Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to analyze situations accurately and take appropriate action.
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of a broad range of audio and video equipment, including distribution and projection systems.
Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $4,333 per month.
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,681-$6,034 per month.
Licenses and/or Certifications Required:
SDSU Vaccine Policy
In accordance with the California State University systemwide policy, students, faculty, and staff must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide a valid medical or religious exemption in order to access campus. Individuals are considered fully vaccinated for five months after their final dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine or for two months after receiving the only dose of a single-dose vaccine. Afterward a COVID-19 booster is required to continue to be considered fully vaccinated.
The individual hired into this role will be required to submit their completed vaccination documentation to the university's secure online health portal prior to beginning work. Individuals with an approved medical or religious exemption on file with the university will be required to participate in SDSU's COVID-19 testing program.
