Position Title: Vice President of Human Resources Job Summary: The Vice President of Human Resources will report to the General Counsel and Senior Vice President and will serve as strategic partner and trusted advisor to University Leadership. The Vice President of Human Resources will lead the human resources department and provide strategic direction to the HR Team, which includes but is not limited to overseeing payroll, benefits, total rewards administration, performance management, talent management, employee relations, day to day HR operations and the administration of university policies and procedures. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organization’s short-term and long-term human capital priorities and goals. Develops the enterprise-wide human capital strategy in alignment with the organization’s mission, priorities and goals.

2. Provides guidance and leadership to the human resources team; Supports employee relations matters including Title IX, compensation, benefits and total rewards administration and human resources process. Leads human resources team in developing efficient, effective and sustainable HR operations and HR technology platforms.

3. Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, annual performance review process, employee training and employee incentive programs. 4. Mitigate organizational risk and ensures compliance with employment, benefits administration, workers compensation insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.

5. Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.

6. Maintains fiduciary responsibility for employee 403 (b) retirement plan and the human resources and employee benefits budget management.

7. Develops, interprets administers university employment policies and ensures university handbook and faculty guide are in alignment. Minimum Requirements and Critical Skills: Bachelor’s degree, 10 years of functional HR experience, 10 years of HR Leadership experience (or a combination of functional HR and HR Leadership Experience) organizational skills, attention to detail, high level of cultural competency and emotional intelligence, strong analytical and problem-solving skills and effective judgement and decision making, strong supervisory and leadership skills, 2-3 years’ experience with total rewards, benefits administration, benefits plan compliance experience and thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Knowledge of and experience with varied human capital management systems, proficiencies with HR analytics, Microsoft Office Suite or related software required. Preferred Requirements: Master’s in Human Resources or MBA, hands on experience integrating Human Capital Management platforms (e.g. Workday, ADP, Multiport or UKG) and SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification strongly preferred.
