Job Description:

Reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President for Strategic Initiatives, the Director of Enrollment Marketing and Communications is responsible for the development and implementation of an integrated marketing strategy for the division, designed to promote the comprehensive student experience and resulting in optimum enrollment outcomes. The Director will be a skilled communicator and storyteller who understands the essence of the University of Florida brand, and equally importantly, the unique narrative of admissions marketing, particularly how to articulate the value of the University of Florida and to move prospective students successfully through the enrollment funnel. The ideal candidate will be an accountable relationship builder, with strong abilities to listen to, understand, and communicate with campus partners from across the campus.

Provide leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of strategic marketing communication efforts, based on core differentiators, brand pillars, and value propositions for key audiences, including prospective students and families.

▪ Evaluate, develop, and coordinate with the admissions leadership team on the design and production of all communications related to admissions and the recruitment lifecycle.
▪ Determine marketing campaign budgets and ensure adherence to them.
▪ Promote contemporary and effective approaches to reach key stakeholders.
▪ Coordinate innovative communications initiatives, utilizing a variety of platforms and mediums. This includes knowledge of best practices in social media, web design/development/integration, email, demand generation, etc.
▪ Stay current with higher education marketing trends and developments and issues pertaining to best practices.
▪ Examine strategies of peer, competitor, and aspirant institutions.
▪ Possess the technological acumen to leverage CRM tools, content management tools, and digital platforms effectively in integrated marketing and communications plans.
▪ Ensure consistent and thoughtful messaging across key audiences to enhance communication and recruitment efforts.
▪ Establish metrics for success in an integrated strategic communications and marketing action plan and regularly assess success of efforts.
▪ Create a plan for ongoing evaluation of communications and marketing efforts. Develop KPIs and benchmarks to evaluate the performance of enrollment marketing and communications efforts.
▪ Monitor the success of campaigns using analytics and other assessment methods.
▪ Evaluate traditional and digital marketing campaigns and produce informative reports. Provide analytical insights to non-technical audiences. Proficient in Google Analytics or other analytics tools/solutions.
▪ Develop a deep understanding of the voice of the student and identify key opportunities/leverage points for improving their experience and building advocacy and loyalty.
▪ Understand segmentation and provide expertise in differentiating tactics and messaging for a variety of constituents.
▪ Hire, supervise, and train personnel, freelance, and contracted partners and students to provide services necessary to fulfill responsibilities.
▪ Coach team members to maximize creativity, productivity, and effectiveness.
▪ Create a culture of accountability through evidence-based decision making, outcomes assessment, and process improvement where individual and team progress, deadlines, and results are reported and evaluated with regularity.
▪ Review, manage, and approve Enrollment Management content across traditional and digital channels with content providers.
▪ Assure the integrity, high-quality, and consistency of the university's image, tone, style, narrative, visual identity, and brand.
▪ Ensure timely and accurate production and execution of all communication regarding budget.

Commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and eight years of relevant experience.

▪ Up-to-date on thought leadership on enrollment communications topics. An ongoing commitment to staying abreast of emerging trends, developing professional contacts, attending professional development engagements, and delivering presentations that inform, educate, and inspire.
▪ Experience working in communications roles that support recruitment, enrollment management, and/or admissions activities.
▪ Willingness and ability to adjust to changing demands and shifting priorities.
▪ Experience working with project management software, social marketing tools, email marketing tools, and production software suites.
▪ Demonstrated experience in customer relationship management systems for use in marketing campaigns. Preferred experience with Slate and Salesforce.
▪ Demonstrated ability to successfully and simultaneously coordinate multiple ongoing tasks and responsibilities of varying degrees of complexity.
▪ Bachelor's degree in a relevant area of specialization. Advanced degree is preferred.
▪ 6+ years of progressive, relevant experience.
