Job Description

This position serves in an executive role as the primary department leadership responsible for strategy, vision, direction, and resource development. The Director leads in educating, advocating, and supporting the advancement of gender equity on campus and in the community. The Director also serves as a campus and community resource for women’s and gender issues and provides leadership for all aspects of the general operations and activities of the Women’s Center.

• Leads in strategic planning, and vision, mission, and goals of the Women’s Center
• Oversees program development, implementation, and evaluation
• Oversees marketing and promotion of Women’s Center programs and services
• Oversees hiring, training, and supervision of Women’s Center staff
• Provides overall fiscal management of the Center, grant and resource development, and fundraising
• Leads and directs the Chancellor’s Advisory board to the Women’s Center
• Cultivates and maintains partnerships and collaborations with academic units and other university departments at UMKC and other institutions on matters of mutual concern; develops collaborative programs and events
• Cultivates and maintains corporate and community relationships on matters of mutual concern; develops collaborative programs and events
• Participates in campus, professional, and civic organization, committees, boards, and commissions to maintain professional competence, establish contacts, and provide subject matter expertise
• Other duties as assigned

Direct reports: Senior Program Coordinator

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a women’s center or similar experience
• Master’s Degree preferred
• Demonstrates strong understanding, knowledge, and experience relevant to the advocacy, education and support services for women and gender equity on a college campus.
• Strong written and communication skills
• Experience working on collaborative projects with campus and community constituents
• Able to balance multiple priorities, work independently

Full Time/Part Time

Full time, benefit eligible

Salary

$55,208 - $64,000 commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
