Job Description

Departments in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences seek applications for a one-year, fixed term, full-time Research Assistant Professor position for scholars who were working at an academic and/or research institution in Ukraine in February 2022 and thereafter and have been displaced by the war. Research areas are open, with emphasis in innovative, unique, cross-disciplinary, and cross-modal approaches addressing complex problems. Applicants who cross methodological approaches are encouraged to apply, as are those who would benefit from the support of a vibrant community committed to diversity and inclusion to innovate, build, and re-imagine how we do our work across disciplines. Possible department/center affiliations include the Department of Political Science; Center for European Union, Transatlantic, and Trans-European Space Studies; and the Center for Refugee, Migrant, and Displacement Studies. Depending on need/expertise, applicants will engage in research, public lectures, consultation with faculty and students in building programs, collaboration on external funding possibilities, and meetings with administrators to discuss curriculum development.

Required Qualifications

- Evidence of publication in peer reviewed journals
- PhD (terminal degree) in liberal arts, social sciences, or related fields
- Must have excellent oral and written English language skills - proficiency will be verified

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience developing proposals for extramural funding and managing activities on funded programs.
