The Academic Pathway Advisor & Intervention Specialist partners with students, faculty, staff, Instructional Services, administrators, and the community in a proactive process which facilitates the development of intentional educational and career plans to help students achieve academic, personal, and professional goals. This specialist coordinates activities with faculty and students to promote student success in their assigned academic programs and identifies students identified as “at risk” based on test scores, faculty reports, student requests, and students with academic difficulties.

Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Master’s Degree and 5-7 years of college or university recruiting or advising experience is preferred.

Essential Duties Summary
- In collaboration with students, identify the appropriate educational and career options, assist with analyzing each option, including possible outcomes and their implications, establish academic and career goals, and establish an action plan for students to explore alternative careers and related program adjacency.
- Develop a community of learners holistically fosters professional growth, development, and socialization in the health/biomedical sciences and pharmacy professions.
- Coach students in the areas of time management, organization, study skills, and stress management
- Utilize available and appropriate technology to monitor students’ academic progress toward degree and/or certificate completion, identify current and potential academic needs, document ongoing case management activities, and document all pertinent student information and status updates.
- Provide information regarding the promotion of special programs and opportunities such as learning communities, bridge courses, honors programs, service learning, etc.
- Inform students of procedures such as withdrawal, repeating coursework, advanced standing credit, graduation, etc.
- Provide transfer planning to universities to include joint admissions programs, articulation agreements, common course numbering systems, and transfer plans.
- May provide career & pathways advising support for recruitment and outreach efforts of the College.
- Provide detailed information regarding career and pathways planning, admissions, and enrollment processes.
- Refer students to social support services and additional tutoring services, and other services offered by the Academic Success Center ( ASC ).
