The Department of Cancer Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of genetics, protein biochemistry, cell culture, molecular biology, and animal models of cancer. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Responsibilities may include investigation of biology of tumor dormancy.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop experimental design skills, critical reading of the scientific literature and experimental techniques. Bring studies to completion and prepare manuscripts describing the results, prepare grant applications, present research findings in national and international meetings, mentor junior scientists, and participate in career training opportunities offered by the University.

Candidate should have 5 years of experience as a postdoctoral researcher.
