The Department of Linguistics in the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure research track. Expertise is required in the specific area of computational analysis of speech and language as applied in clinical research. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

Research and scholarship responsibilities will include the development of an independent and/or collaborative research program, and participation in multidisciplinary research, developing advanced speech and language biomarkers for screening, classifying, and tracking conditions such as Autism, Schizophrenia, Alzheimer's Disease, Frontotemporal Degeneration, and Mood Disorders.

The successful candidate must possess a Ph.D. in linguistics or a related field, and have at least 4 to 5 years of postdoctoral experience developing and validating biomarkers based on the computational analysis of speech and language, including statistical analysis of the results in a clinical context. The candidate should have outstanding productivity in both technical and collaborative research as well as a track record of productive independent research (via grant and publication history).
