The Program in Animal Behavior at Indiana University invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Lecturer position in Animal Behavior beginning August 1, 2023. The initial appointment is for three years. This is intended to be a long-term position and there is a promotion track, through the rank of Senior Lecturer, followed by Teaching Professor. The Program in Animal Behavior offers a BS degree in Animal Behavior (animalbehavior.indiana.edu). The successful candidate will be expected to teach and continue development of four undergraduate courses per academic year (typically 2 per semester), including the Animal Behavior major’s core courses, a formal laboratory course, and advanced topical courses relevant to animal behavior and based on the applicant’s expertise. The applicant will also share in supervision of our internship program.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Animal Behavior or a closely related field such as Biology, Psychology Biological Anthropology, Neuroscience, or Environmental Science at the time of appointment; strong communication and organizational skills; and documented evidence of independent classroom and laboratory teaching ability. Postdoctoral training is a plus. Salary is commensurate with experience and full benefits are included.
