Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, the Student and University Relations Specialist is located in the Student Affairs office at UWM at Waukesha campus and is primarily responsible for providing excellence in customer service and university relations by addressing the administrative needs of student affairs staff and campus administration. The position-holder is the first campus contact and therefore is highly visible with a strong knowledge base and understanding of the campus protocols for the areas of admissions, recruitment and outreach, new student programs, advising, campus operations, and student life/development. The position-holder fields questions through email, web chat, phone, and on-site communications.

This recruitment is for 1 ongoing university staff position. The position will be located on the Waukesha campus for a full-time equivalence (FTE) of 75% from August to May and 55% from June to August. The regular hours for this position will be daily Monday to Thursday, with occasional evening and weekend hours required. This position comes with the University of Wisconsin System benefits package and the minimum annualized salary for this position is at $40,560.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Two or more years experience in an administrative support role
  • Proficiency in operating a variety of office equipment (e.g., computer, copier, scanner, mail)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Adobe suite applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)


Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate Degree or higher
  • Experience with office and project management
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in customer service and community outreach roles within higher education settings
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Capabilities in graphic and media design
