Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
- Acute attention to detail and strong writing ability, as demonstrated in a grammatically-correct, articulate, and concise cover letter specifically addressed to the Education Advisor Search Committee.
- Working knowledge and ease at working with common office software applications.
- If given the opportunity to interview for the position, must be an exceptional communicator both verbally and non-verbally. Candidate should be able to clearly express how any prior work or life experiences, along with personal strengths and/or values, relate to the position.
Resposible for providing general administrative and clerical support to College of Education Advising Center and in-person oversight of front desk, lobby, phone, and appointment booking processes.
Job Duties
- Customer Service: in consultation with the Advising Center Director and Advisor II, ensure outstanding customer service is provided to students and guests that visit or contact the College of Education Advising Center.
- Management of Student Workers: hire, train, schedule and report time, supervise, support, and address personnel issues so that performance is maximized.
- Communication: intake, outreach, and tracking of select student inquiries so that assistance is provided in a timely manner; interact with advisors, departmental staff, dean’s office, and other university offices; attend and participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
- Record Keeping: coordination of scanning/indexing electronic files so that documentation is organized and up to date.
- Budget: assist director with monitoring, updating, and analyzing the allocated budget for the College of Education Advising Center; navigate one-time and recurring purchasing processes; monitor office inventory.
- Physical Office: coordinate opening and closing of office, facilitate requests to Facility Services for repairs and general upkeep.
- Special Projects: as assigned by supervisor.
