Job Description

Resposible for providing general administrative and clerical support to College of Education Advising Center and in-person oversight of front desk, lobby, phone, and appointment booking processes.

Job Duties
  • Customer Service: in consultation with the Advising Center Director and Advisor II, ensure outstanding customer service is provided to students and guests that visit or contact the College of Education Advising Center.
  • Management of Student Workers: hire, train, schedule and report time, supervise, support, and address personnel issues so that performance is maximized.
  • Communication: intake, outreach, and tracking of select student inquiries so that assistance is provided in a timely manner; interact with advisors, departmental staff, dean’s office, and other university offices; attend and participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
  • Record Keeping: coordination of scanning/indexing electronic files so that documentation is organized and up to date.
  • Budget: assist director with monitoring, updating, and analyzing the allocated budget for the College of Education Advising Center; navigate one-time and recurring purchasing processes; monitor office inventory.
  • Physical Office: coordinate opening and closing of office, facilitate requests to Facility Services for repairs and general upkeep.
  • Special Projects: as assigned by supervisor.
