The NYU School of Professional Studies seeks an Academic Director and Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Public Relations and Corporate Communication for the Division of Programs in Business.

The Academic Director will oversee the Master of Science in Public Relations and Corporate Communication (PRCC). S/he will be responsible for the management and development of academic curriculum, hiring, oversight, and on-going communication with adjunct faculty, management of student services and concerns.  Additionally, the Academic Director will teach within the graduate program.

Reporting to the Associate Dean of the Division of Programs in Business, the Academic Director will lead the PRCC faculty and draw support from the field to advance the academic mission of this graduate program. S/he will work closely with the Department Chair to implement the vision for the graduate programs and to increase their profiles and visibility. 

This full-time position is a nine-month appointment with a two-year renewable faculty contract; the Academic Director role is an eleven-month administrative appointment that runs concurrently with the faculty role.  The rank of the position is dependent upon experience and qualifications.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $145,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will be a committed educator, with evidence of meaningful contributions in industry and/or academia. S/he will possess advanced academic credentials (Ph.D., or other advanced terminal degree), and a minimum of five years of substantial direct experience. Expertise and familiarity with the fields of public relations are required. We seek an individual with professional experience who can oversee academic content and delivery in alignment with current industry needs and emerging trends in the field. Candidates should have experience working with a diverse base of professionals and teaching a diverse population of students. Prior teaching experience or evidence of the potential for success in teaching is required. 

About the Division of Programs in Business
The NYU Division of Programs in Business provides applied, professional education for students interested in becoming leaders in the functional areas of a business: marketing, human resources, management and technology, and finance.  Students from around the world are immersed in highly relevant curricular and co-curricular experiences that combine academic theory and the rich professional expertise of industry practitioners from New York City’s business community.  This creates a dynamic teaching and learning environment in which students gain and apply practical skills to solve complex, real-world problems of business and society.

The Public Relations and Corporate Communication degree is one of two degree programs in the Integrated Marketing and Communication department with more than 200 adjunct faculty members.  The program prepares approximately 1200 graduate students per year to become innovative and socially responsible leaders in their chosen fields.
