Job Summary

Reporting to the Chancellor, the Vice Chancellor of Analytics and Planning is an executive leadership position responsible for elevating the use of information to enable data-informed decision-making at every level of the institution. This individual is a mature leader with a proven track record at a large organization. They have the skills and attributes to translate institutional goals into strategic plans and operational metrics that align strategic priorities, decision-making, and practice for continuous improvement. This leader is an innovative team builder who deploys systems-thinking leadership to support the College mission and goals. Additionally, this action-oriented ethical leader utilizes student ready frameworks to advance the College’s investment in integrating diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging into institutional practices and outcomes. The Vice Chancellor of Analytics and Planning provides direct supervision to Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation, Institutional Research, Organizational Excellence and Development, and the Office of Grants Development and Compliance.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Performance Requirements*
  • Provides collaborative leadership to align priorities and objectives for institutional effectiveness, organizational excellence, grants development, and research to support the College mission, vision, and goals
  • Utilizes data-informed leadership to engage in executive-level decision-making, operational planning, and assessment of policies, practices, and outcomes that yield improvements in the student and employee experience
  • Supervises, leads, and supports streamlining and the augmentation of innovative, proven, and promising practices to advance TCC’s mission, goals, priorities, and operations
  • Advances the alignment of College operations with accreditation requirements as well as federal, state, and local policies and guidelines
  • Uses institutional data to inform action-oriented planning, decision-making, implementation, and evaluation to promote continuous improvement
  • Works cross-functionally with College leadership and stakeholder groups to coordinate a One College model of metrics, analysis, and assessment of practices, programs, and outcomes
  • Formulates reports and narratives from data to educate, galvanize, and tell compelling, relevant stories of TCC to a diverse set of audiences
  • Directs the authorization and release of institutional data to appropriate stakeholders
  • Fosters a culture of professional development and learning that stems from research, data, and innovation that results in measurable student-ready practices and outcomes
  • Ensures College-sponsored professional development supports the mission and strategic priorities of the institution
  • Collaborates with College leadership to identify and develop operational priorities and forecast budgets for ongoing continuous improvement
  • Ensures grant projects align with institutional goals, metrics, and priorities
  • Advises evaluation of prospective grant projects and shares assessment with College leadership to make informed decisions
  • Ensures key resources and budgets align with grant project implementation and post-grant sustainability needs
  • Routinely prepares reports for stakeholders such as the Board of Trustees, Chancellor, and Cabinet leadership team, among others
General Supervision and Management
  • Provides leadership for all analytics and planning for College, including direct supervision of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation, Institutional Research, Organizational Excellence and Development, and the Office of Grants Development and Compliance
  • Provides direction, ongoing monitoring, and support to direct reports
Service Excellence
  • Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College ( TCC )
  • Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, and creativity and service to the College
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Chancellor

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in related field
  • Eight (8) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
  • Five (5) years’ experience supervising (e.g., managing, evaluating the performance of others; leading projects or processes)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate in a related field
  • Experience serving in positions with executive level leadership responsibilities
  • Experience leading in a complex urban organization
  • Current Project Management Certification
  • Experience developing and implementing plans in alignment with SACSCOC guidelines, timelines, and requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
  • Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
  • Ability to foster a collaborative and equity-driven work environment and setting
  • Ability to delegate work appropriately to employees to meet College and campus deliverables
  • Skilled in project planning, management, and monitoring
  • Skilled in providing high quality customer service and culturally competent communications with diverse populations
  • Skilled in budget planning, operations, and forecasting
  • Skilled in using applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
