The Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience Laboratory of Dr. Chrysikou ( www.chrysikoulab.com ) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to contribute to our funded projects on learning, memory, and problem solving. Our projects are highly collaborative and involve scholars from various disciplines including psychology, neuroscience, engineering, architecture, and computer science. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will be responsible for the implementation, analysis, and write-up of resting-state and task-based fMRI studies of learning, memory, and problem solving. They will work closely with their mentor, as well as with a full-time research assistant and other members of the laboratory team. The postdoctoral training will be tailored to ensure that the Postdoctoral Research Fellow is gaining the relevant skills and experiences to launch an independent research career.
Our lab focuses on basic and translational research on the neural bases of cognitive flexibility, higher-order thought, and goal-oriented action. We are part of the Applied Cognitive and Brain Sciences Program ( http://drexel.edu/coas/academics/graduate-programs/psychology-applied-cognitive-brain-science/ ) within the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Drexel University ( http://drexel.edu/coas/academics/departments-centers/psychology/ ). We are a highly interdisciplinary group using cognitive neuroscience methods such as functional neuroimaging, neuropsychological studies, and noninvasive brain stimulation to investigate cognitive and affective regulation in health and disease.
Essential Functions
- Work closely with your mentor, as well as with a full-time research assistant and other members of the study team.
- Responsible for the implementation, analysis, and write-up of resting-state and task-based fMRI studies to understand individual differences in learning in design students.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- PhD or Doctorate in Cognitive Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Psychology, or related field.
- Background and experience in functional brain imaging data collection and analyses using specialized software (FSL, AFNI, Freesurfer).
- Advanced computer programming skills (Matlab, R, Python).
