Title: Information Security Architect

Location: 3101 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104

Support the Chief Information Security Officer’s work on leadership, strategy, policy, risk management, disaster recovery, business continuity, compliance, external relations, and emerging technologies and threats. Manage vulnerability scanning and monitoring programs, including patch management and retirement of obsolete systems. Manage or support the following projects: forensics, intrusion detection, incident response, threat hunting, endpoint security, network security, cloud computing, software contracts, and management of security operations. Lead or collaborate on in-house security software development and maintenance; perform security awareness training for Drexel University faculty, staff, and students; perform forensics, intrusion detection and incident detection, and document the remediation using the following: Splunk, Palo Alto Firewalls, Windows Defender, Microsoft Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), and Access Data Foresnic Toolkit (FTK); run threat hunting, vulnerability scanning, and monitoring using Tenable, Nessus, Shodan, BitSight, and Dorkbot; perform patch management and retirement of obsolete systems with the Center for Internet Security Controls Critical Security Controls (CIS CSC); execute end-point security, including encryption at rest and encryption in transit using Microsoft Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Microsoft Cloud Security platform, Sophos Endpoint Protection, Windows Defender, Splunk, and Palo Alto XSOAR; and conduct Identity Management, Third-Party Risk Management, and Compliance with the Higher Education Community Vendor Assessment Toolkit (HECVAT), Security Operations Center (SOC 2) Type II Reports, and Payment Card Industry (PCI) Attestation of Compliance (AOCs).

Job Requirements
  • Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, CISSP or equivalent information security certification, and three (3) years of experience in an information security position including:
    • Managing information security technologies to protect information, networks, servers, endpoints, and cloud services, e.g., firewalls, antivirus, encryption, data leak prevention, security information and event management systems, and intrusion detection and prevention systems.
    • Managing identity, vulnerability, and threats
    • Incident detection, documentation, response, and remediation.
    • Applying information security and privacy laws, regulations and guidelines, e.g., data breach state laws, FERPA, HIPAA, NIST, PCI-DSS, DFARS, and GDPR.
