Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Senior Manager, IT Network Services is responsible for developing business and technology standards and best practices for department. Overall responsibility for all network operations work, including the integration of new network technologies such as wireless, voice, video, cabling, digital signage, and physical infrastructure designs. Develops enterprise service levels for data and voice/video/wireless networking equipment and for both in-house and third party software applications. Oversees development of procedures and processes for enterprise network operations. Responsible for ensuring that the enterprise has the capability to support new technologies and maintain high levels of network performance and reliability. This position is a member of a 24/7/365 department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Creates and promotes a productive work environment, ensuring that necessary skills and competencies are in place to meet the goals of the unit
- Leads in the definition and implementation of services to meet the needs of a large, diverse user community
- Prioritizes decisions and actions across sub-teams to support IT strategic directions
- Creates and fosters opportunities for collaboration, within own area and across boundaries within the College
- Negotiates complex interrelationships among various internal organizational functions.
- Oversees development of annual operating plans
- Contributes to IT leadership forums (e.g., IT manager’s meeting)
- Work to ensure network and critical services are monitored and alerting is effective
- Develop and enforce evolving procedures to ensure security of systems is effectively in place
- Promotes knowledge of own area to gain support for on-going and future initiatives
- Provides technical resources and expertise when needed for team or other functional areas
- Maintains tasks, projects and activities in the IT system of Record (S-NOW)
- Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
- Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
- Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
- Position may require work after hours to assist with critical events and projects
- Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior experience with management of staff or coordination of large technical teams
- Intermediate certification in area of responsibility
- Advanced certification in area of responsibility
Hiring salary range is $98,854 - $113,682
Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
