Instructional Assistant Professor

Position Description

The Department of Criminal Justice & Legal Studies at The University of Mississippi is seeking applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track position at the rank of Instructor. The University of Mississippi (UM) is included in the elite group of R-1: Doctoral Universities – Highest Research Activity by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. The successful candidate will be able to teach introductory and upper-division courses in the law studies curriculum. The primary duties include teaching up to four courses per semester and actively contributing to the undergraduate programs.

The Department is housed within the School of Applied Sciences in Oxford, Mississippi. In addition to our recognition as one of the best colleges in the nation to work for by The Chronicle of Higher Education, UM has also been acknowledged frequently in the Chronicle’s Great
Colleges Honor Roll, an award given to only a handful of universities with an enrollment of more than 10,000 students. The Department currently offers a B.S. in Criminal Justice, a B.S. in Law Studies, a Master’s in Criminal Justice (MCJ), and a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice Policy
Studies.
