Dean, School of Nursing and Health Studies
University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) seeks an experienced, visionary leader for the position of Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Studies. The School of Nursing and Health Studies has 248 BSN students, 469 Bachelor of Health Sciences students and 420 graduate students. There are 50 full-time faculty members.

The Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Studies is the chief executive officer of the School and is responsible to the Provost for the general administration of the School. The Dean provides leadership and vision in strategic planning and implementation of programs, ensures the strong infrastructure required to support excellence and innovation in undergraduate and graduate nursing education and nursing research, and leads School development activities. The Dean is expected to foster collaborative partnerships with other schools within UMKC, other programs of nursing, other institutions of higher education, and health care organizations. The Dean serves as a strong advocate for the School, advancing its reputation and visibility locally, nationally, and internationally.

UMKC seeks a Dean who is a creative nurse educator with a strong record of collaborative leadership, a vision for the future of education in nursing and health sciences, and the ability to manage the School's resources in a manner that helps it achieve its goals. The successful candidate will have a graduate degree in nursing and an earned doctorate in nursing or a related discipline, a track record of research, prior administrative experience, preferably within an academic setting, and credentials that merit appointment at the rank of full professor in nursing. The successful candidate will be a person of high integrity and an entrepreneurial leader with a strong record of collaborative leadership and commitment to academic excellence.

The University of Missouri-Kansas City is the largest comprehensive, fully accredited university in the Kansas City area and serves more than 16,000 undergraduate and graduate students across more than 125 academic areas.
