Reporting to the Director of Information Security, the Identity,
Cyber Awareness and Vendor Risk Specialist is a highly
collaborative position that plays a key role in the management and
maintenance of the Grinnell College Identity Management processes
to ensure that Grinnell faculty and staff have the relevant level
of access to Institutional data required to carry out their job.
Responsible for the development, review, and updating of the
College’s security awareness and training program and associated
documentation, the Specialist instructs the program and reports on
its outcomes. This includes training and awareness activities
required by employees to gain or maintain access to College
As steward of the Grinnell College cybersecurity awareness program,
the Specialist develops creative ways to help employees and
students alike develop important cybersecurity protection skills.
This also includes managing the College’s phishing awareness
program, executing exercises and managing the associated training
opportunities and messaging.
The Specialist is also responsible for the management and
maintenance of information security vendor risk assessment reviews
that provide confidence that the College’s vendors are meeting
required security standards.
