Job Summary/Basic Function

The Coordinator of Campus User Technology manages and provides support for Bay College’s campus user technology and infrastructure.This position is also responsible for ensuring all applications, hardware, and other miscellaneous user technology is maintained, under warranty, and up to date. Together with the IT Administrator I position, this position manages the operating system and application deployment platform.
The Coordinator of Campus User Technology maintains the end user technology replacement calendar for the campus and schedules any appropriate preventative or remedial maintenance necessary to ensure the proper operational health of the campus’ user technology.
This position works on campus at the Escanaba location.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Networking, or related field
  • Two years’ experience supporting Windows PCs in a managed environment
  • Two years’ experience assisting users of computer systems, both over the telephone and in-person
  • Experience in support and troubleshooting of both computer software and hardware, including peripherals
  • Excellent communication skills, effective listener, and good time management skills are required
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff
  • Ability to rapidly adjust focus based upon user needs
  • This position requires a personality, temperament, and communication skills to work cooperatively with students, faculty and staff
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong background experience in computer software and hardware preferred.
  • Five years of experience working in a complex IT environment assisting users via computer, telephone and in-person preferred.

Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with an hour lunch break.

Supervision Exercised

This position is charged with co-managing both support and technical student workers who provide end-user support related to campus user technology.
