Location: Off Campus Location - Offices for this position will be located in Lapwai or one of target communities of Kamiah/Clearwater Valley.

Pay Range: $55,536 per year or higher depending on education and experience

Position Summary:
The Outreach and Engagement Director is given the authority to conceptualize, implement, and administer a program of educational opportunity and complementary services for the communities of Kamiah, Kooskia, Lapwai, and Orofino. This program includes engaging with the community and invested members, managing the operations of the project, investigating the efficacy of project services through reflective practice and data inquiry, and disseminating the investigation findings and program results to a broad audience. The Project Director must ensure, through the implementation of an intentional program of year-round services that: the project contributes to the development of the community's interests as well as those of its individual members, and that programing results are understood and disseminated for the purposes of community inspection, policy development, and practice improvement.

This position oversees two federal TRIO Upward Bound grants and works with people from rural communities and various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. This program actively works to implement Trauma-Informed approaches to service in support of promoting self-efficacy and resilience in project participants. Additionally, the successful candidate will work with Indigenous communities to meet the needs of Native American student populations and learners.



Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Education, Leadership, or Public Administration
  • Applying local, state, and/or federal laws relating to program/project management.
  • Developing written materials such as annual reports and policy/procedures manuals.
  • Program planning, development, and implementation.
  • Financial and budgetary oversight.
  • Develop relationships and communicate with stakeholders
  • Designing and implementing evaluation/assessment strategies for ongoing project improvement.
  • Working effectively with individuals of diverse racial and cultural backgrounds.
  • Identifying the educational needs of a target population.





Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in related field
  • Experience coordinating complex collaborative initiatives.
  • Teaching, advising, mentoring, or student development experience with non-traditional, under prepared, or under resourced students.
  • Knowledge of concepts and factors related to academic and career advising including financial assistance and college admissions.
  • Experience supervising and leading professional staff;
  • Ability to effectively communicate to multiple audiences.
