Education
Master’s degree or higher.
Doctorate degree preferred.
Required Licensing/Certification
Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas ( LPC, LCSW, LMFT ).
Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible administration experience in
Counseling.
Licensed Supervisor preferred.

Essential Duties Summary
- Manages administrative duties of the office which include strategic plan, report writing, employee oversight, daily operations.
- Provides monitoring of clinical records to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Provides comprehensive mental health counseling for currently enrolled students. Services include individual, group, family, crisis counseling and consultations.
- Develops and maintains partnerships with internal and external individuals, departments, and organizations.
- Develops and presents various outreach topics and presentations relevant to college mental health.
- Conducts research to identify latest trends in college mental health.
- Provides supervision for practicum students and LPC -Associates.
- Serves on various university committees to promote the overall wellbeing of students and support the mission of the university and the department. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

- Demonstrates expert knowledge in multiple disciplines. Acts as the ultimate subject matter expert in several professional disciplines and is the “go-to” expert on principles, methods and procedures. Requires the ability to create methods and approaches to handle unique situations.
- In order to serve as Licensed Professional Counselor one must obtain advanced training and maintain a current state license. Additionally, the role of the director requires the ability to understand both administrative processes and clinical processes.
