Preferred Qualifications   Position Summary

Develop and manage a portfolio of Terry College major gift prospects. Make a minimum of 14 face-to-face visits each calendar month with these prospects. These visits will be qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship visits in the state of Georgia and around the nation. Probability of several overnight trips per month.  Complete all necessary preparation and follow-up for each visit.  Document visits with a written contact report in “GAIL” alumni/donor database within a week of the visit.  Prepare timely, accurate, relevant, clear, concise and compelling proposals to secure major ($50K+) gifts in support of Terry’s strategic plan and priorities. Demonstrate strategies that move prospective donors through the development cycle of identification, information, involvement and investment of 18-24 months and close a target number of 10+ major gifts annually (this number to increase).  The following list is not considered all-encompassing and is subject to change by the Terry College as needed to meet the goals of the Office of Development and Alumni Relations.

Duties/Responsibilities

Portfolio Management:  Develop and manage a portfolio of Terry College major gift prospects. Make a minimum of 14 face-to-face visits each calendar month with these prospects. These visits will be qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship visits in the state of Georgia and around the nation.          

Percentage of time 45 Duties/Responsibilities

Visit Follow-up:  Make telephone and correspondence preparation and follow up to each visit.  Document visits with a written contact report in “GAIL” alumni/donor database within a week of the visit.

Percentage of time 20 Duties/Responsibilities

Strategy:  Develop plans that move prospective donors through the development cycle of identification, information, involvement, and investment over 18-24 months and close a target number of 10+ major gifts annually (this number to increase).

Percentage of time 10 Duties/Responsibilities

Proposals/Administration:  Prepare timely, accurate, relevant, clear, concise and compelling proposals to secure major ($50K+) gifts in support of Terry’s strategic plan and priorities. Perform all administrative duties as needed. 

Percentage of time 10 Duties/Responsibilities

Special Events:  Perform additional duties as assigned on alumni weekend, football Saturdays, and other special events which frequently fall on nights and weekends.

Percentage of time 5 Duties/Responsibilities

Academic Departments Programs:  Work collaboratively with academic departments and programs to support and guide them through the philanthropic process.

Percentage of time 5 Duties/Responsibilities

Meetings:  Attend monthly Terry prospect strategy/staff meetings, University Development staff meetings and selected University Central Development trainings.
