Job Description:

Use existing management tools to configure computers, deploy software, and customize applications to function in a networked, managed environment. This aspect of the work requires creative problem solving to determine the most effective solution for each product. Detailed knowledge of application and operating system deployment tools is required. Strong knowledge of MacOS and Windows client operating systems is essential.

Support user-facing services within the College. Work requires research into new and existing server products. The incumbent will assume a lead role in the management of multiple operating systems and applications. This work requires collaboration with other IT staff both in and outside the College to assure system interoperability.

Supervise and train customer support personnel in maintaining computers and assisting end users. Prioritize daily work assignments of customer support personnel. This work requires good oral and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Analyze and research end user problems. Essentially 2nd and 3rd tier tech support work, this work requires research and problem solving skills to solve more difficult end user problems.

Facilitate the University Risk Management process by working with end users, other University IT teams, the University Risk Management team and, as necessary, outside vendors to complete reviews in an efficient and timely manner.

Assist end users with daily computer operations and technical support.

Develop documentation and training for specialized applications. This work requires the incumbent to identify areas of special need best addressed by end user documentation and/or training materials. The incumbent will acquire or produce these materials as needed.

Expected Salary:

Expected starting salary range is $75,000 - $85,000 annually; negotiable based on education, skills and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degree; or associate's degree and two years of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Planning and Project Management experience. Knowledge of MacOS, Windows server and client operating systems, some variant of linux, iOS, and Android, computer hardware, software, and peripherals. Knowledge of basic computer networking. Knowledge of computer security concepts. At least one programming/scripting language. Ability to learn on the job from books and internet resources. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to diagnose and resolve computer problems.
