Job Description:

OFFICIAL TITLE: Assistant Director of Residence Life and Housing
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Associate Director of Residence Life and Housing
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervises student staff.

General Statement of Duties: The Assistant Director will coordinate the assignment, billing and reporting of all on-campus residential housing. This position will be responsible for the housing of summer conference attendees and will supervise the staff who support these programs. This person will manage the damage billing process and will oversee the key inventory and software for card access locks.

Responsibilities:

  1. (E) Prepares occupancy reports and maintains historical data.
  2. (E) Coordinates damage billing process, inventory and assessment procedures.
  3. (E) Coordinates the Summer Conference Program.
  4. (E) Maintains updated meal plan assignments, changes and billing.
  5. (E) Coordinates room assignments, room changes and room selection processes.
  6. (E) Coordinates break housing & billing.
  7. (E) Coordinates the emotional support animal housing process.
  8. (E) Maintains key inventory; coordinates lock change and all associated paperwork.
  9. (E) Oversees the Basis software program to control the electronic locks within the residence halls.
  10. (E) Manages Maxient and Adirondack Housing Director software for Residence Life.
  11. (E) Prepares #wooweekly newsletter that is distributed to all resident students.
  12. (E) Serves on multiple campus wide committees, including but not limited to Data Quality, Enrollment Management and Housing Accommodations.
  13. (E) Serves as the chair for the Housing Appeals Committee.
  14. (E) Serve as a Judicial Hearing Officer.
  15. (E) Participates in the Residence Life professional staff on call rotation.
  16. (E) Responsible for contributing to the WSU Strategic Plan.
  17. (E) Responsible for contributing to Equal Opportunity/ Affirmative Action objectives.
  18. Performs other duties as assigned.



Requirements:

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience.
  • Demonstrated previous supervisory and administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with residence hall operations.
  • Ability to deal effectively with conflicts and crises.
  • Demonstrated awareness/sensitivity toward issues pertaining to Affirmative Action and non-discrimination.
  • Ability to successfully pass a thorough background and CORI check.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time, benefited, exempt, professional APA position. The firm starting annual salary range for this position is $60,000- $65,000, commensurate with relevant professional experience and education.
