Department & Position Summary

Direct the fundraising activities targeted at individuals, corporations and foundation to broaden the base of funding sources for specific departments/colleges of the University.

 

Responsibilities

Identify and solicit prospective donors for the assigned college or program. Develop fundraising strategies for generating money from individuals, corporations and foundations. Travel to meet with prospective donors and donors.

 

Write a variety of documents related to fundraising initiatives. Produce solicitation materials, informational brochures and documents for the purpose of motivating donors.

Establish annual and long-range fundraising goals and objectives

Attend meetings with University administration, community organizations, foundations, and business leaders to garner support for department/college programs. Plan and organize meetings related to fundraising events.

 

Required Qualifications

Requires a relevant Bachelor's Degree and valid driver's license. Requires a minimum of 2 years experience in fundraising or alumni relations, or significant experience working in higher education at the college level preferably reporting to the dean or associate or assistant dean. The candidate will have demonstrated leadership supporting initiatives important to the college and dean such as external corporate relations. Strong writing and verbal communication skills, marketing and sales skills along with the ability to work with internal and external constituents required.

 

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position starts at $70,000 annually commensurate with experience and qualifications.
