The Managing Director will work closely with the Faculty Director and the faculty of the Master of Behavioral and Decision Sciences (MBDS) to ensure the success of the program.

Job Description

Key operational responsibilities of the position are 1) recruiting and advising (academic and career) of program students, 2) creating and maintaining connections with the MBDS Advisory Board to ensure students find rewarding internships and research/work experiences in companies, public institutions and consulting firms interested in behavioral science applications, 3) providing course support for MBDS faculty and adjunct teaching instructors, 4) working closely with the Managing Director of the Center for Social Norms and Behavioral Dynamics. The Managing Director will supervise MBDS administrative staff.

Program management and student support. Lead and supervise student advising, course preparation and tracking of student progress, counseling and networking for current students and alumni, summer programming and career services, ensuring that students have a positive experience. Organize and monitor students' capstone and internship experiences. Manage program milestone events in concert with the College of Liberal & Professional Studies (new student orientation, graduation, etc.). Oversee course roster and instructional staffing as determined by Faculty Director and faculty oversight committee.

Marketing, recruitment, outreach, and admissions: The Managing Director works with the College of Liberal and Professional Studies to market the program, host recruitment events/open houses, and assess applications, interview applicants and ensure yield of a diverse and well qualified student cohort.

External outreach and engagement: Develop and maintain a strong network of program alumni who continue to engage with the program. Represent the program on campus and at off-campus events to build alumni and industry collaborations. Work closely with the MBDS Advisory Board to create and maintain relationships with companies, public institutions and consulting firms to ensure students have access to rewarding internship and research/work experiences.

Work closely with the Center for Social Norms and Behavioral Dynamics: Organize workshops and facilitate relations with companies/consulting groups interested in implementing behavioral science solutions.

Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Targeted Pay Range: $75,000- $105,000

This Targeted Pay Range is only applicable to this job posting. All salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.

Qualifications

A Master's Degree or more along with 3 to 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 5-7 years of experience preferred; professional experience in applied behavioral work for a consulting firm, corporate setting, or non-profit is desirable. The main degree should be in a behavioral science related field such as economics/social psychology/management science/organizational science/studies or data science. The position requires strength in management, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; a solid appreciation for and commitment to the vision and agenda of the MBDS Program; an entrepreneurial spirit; the ability to operate under pressure; a commitment to details and excellence in program management; a willingness to contribute creatively to the growth of the MBDS Program; and a keen appreciation and sensitivity for the special needs of the various types of students in the MBDS Program.
