6th Grade Homeroom Teacher

Sidwell Friends School, a co-educational Quaker day school with campuses in Bethesda, MD, and Washington, DC, seeks a 6th grade homeroom teacher for our Middle School division (Grades 5-8) on the DC campus.
The successful candidate must have teaching experience, preferably in grades 5-8. The successful candidate must be skilled in teaching math, social studies, and language arts, understand the age group, be able to work cooperatively with other teachers, and be excited about working with children from diverse backgrounds. Also required is a genuine appreciation for the Quaker philosophy that underlies the school. They will also be expected to teach an advisory program and maintain thorough communication with parents.
A minimum of three years of upper elementary experience is preferred as well as a bachelors degree; a masters in education is preferred.
Teaching positions at Sidwell Friends School are campus-based; therefore, this position requires teaching in person. This position begins in August 2023.
