The University of North Carolina at Pembroke invites applications for the Marion F. Bass Distinguished Professorship in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to identify an innovative leader who will prioritize challenges facing today’s farmers while also empowering the next generation of farmers to embrace new and sustainable technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for a visionary leader to join a passionate team dedicated to shaping a new agricultural program to service southeastern North Carolina.
 

Qualified candidates will have an outstanding record of externally funded grants and research publications. The position will contribute to the establishment of a dynamic agricultural sciences program through grant writing, partnerships with agricultural organizations, and collaborative relationships with local farmers. Candidates with backgrounds in crop sciences, horticulture, animal sciences, or other agriculturally related disciplines are welcome to apply.

Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:  Ph.D. in appropriate discipline and experience teaching in higher education are required. Qualified candidates will have an outstanding record of externally funded grants (and/or significant industry experience) and research publications.

Management Preferences

Special consideration will be given to candidates with demonstrated expertise in agricultural areas of sustainability, agrobusiness, and/or technology. Preference will be given to candidates with the potential to build upon our Agricultural Science Program through successful grant writing as well as research and teaching specialties that complement current offerings.
