A teaching load of three-to-four course sections (9-12 credit hours) each fall and spring semester is expected. A teaching load of two course sections (6 credit hours) each summer semester is also expected. Courses may involve a combination of in-person and online teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The remaining effort will be allocated to statistical consulting within the Center for Nutraceutical and Dietary Supplement Research Center for Nutraceutical and Dietary Supplement Research - CNDSR - The University of Memphis, in addition to time spent providing statistical support for faculty and students within the CHS. Service to the College, University, and profession is expected.

An earned master’s degree (doctoral degree preferred) in Statistics, Biostatistics, Measurement & Evaluation, Data Science, or a related area of study is required. Teaching experience in statistics, ideally using both traditional and online formats, is required. The successful applicant must be able to teach upper-division undergraduate biostatistics courses and develop/teach graduate-level biostatistics courses (with the possibility of also teaching a graduate course in research methods). Experience using statistical models in the health/biomedical sciences and in statistical consulting on biomedical research projects is desired. A formal educational background or personal experience/interest in health science/exercise science/nutrition is desired. Applicants are expected to mentor students and effectively collaborate with faculty having a wide range of applied mathematical backgrounds. Effective oral and written communication skills in English are required. The candidate must meet eligibility requirements to begin and continue working in the United States at the time of the appointment.
