Job Description:

The Division of College Advancement at the State University of New York Oneonta invites applications for the position of Manager of Foundation and Corporate Programs .

The Division works to raise charitable gifts and grants, strengthen alumni programs, traditions and networks, and build sustaining long-term relationships that enhance the financial resources, reputation and visibility of the college. The successful candidate will join an experienced, dynamic Advancement team that has forward momentum as it completes the final year of our Grow. Thrive. Live. comprehensive campaign. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Develop and submit grant proposals to foundations and corporations that support the Regaining Momentum agenda and priorities of SUNY Oneonta
  • Identify and apply to new funding sources to broaden the scope and range of proposals as identified by the SUNY Oneonta/University Grants Team, which includes the Associate Director of Scholarly Activities and the Sr. Grants Writer in the Office of Sponsored Programs, and by meeting regularly with them
  • Work with campus colleagues, alumni, College Foundation board members, and potential funding sources in the development of proposals
  • Fulfill a leadership role in comprehensive campaigns such as the current Grow.Thrive.Live campaign which has exceeded its $25 million goal
  • Participate in travel grant review committee, which awards funds to students for attendance at professional conferences and workshops

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience writing grant proposals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various channels for foundation and corporate philanthropy.
  • Experience working with foundation databases.
  • Experience cultivating and stewarding philanthropic or community relationships and partnerships.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated success in securing funds through private foundations and corporations.
  • Experience working as a member of an Advancement team including major gift officers and leadership on comprehensive campaigns.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Experience working with and serving diverse populations.
