This is a unique opportunity to use simulation technical expertise and educate across Northeastern's colleges, a truly interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to providing hands-on learning experiences. The Simulation Education Technologist works with Bouve College of Health Sciences faculty, staff, students, and outside groups to create immersive simulation experiences for health sciences students and experienced professionals in the Arnold S. Goldstein Simulation Labs. The Simulation Education Technologist is an educational and technical expert who can operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment used in simulation activities. The Simulation Education Technologist will develop simulation learning experiences, lead debriefing sessions, educate and assist college faculty and learners in the use of simulation as an instructional modality. The Simulation Education Technologist will coordinate operational activities, including scheduling, inventory, and simulation environment set-up, and inform budgeting and purchasing activities. The Simulation Technologist will be knowledgeable in various principles and best practices of simulation as an educational tool. This position requires the ability to lift objects greater than 50 lbs. including human patient simulators, medical and non-medical equipment, and simulation environments. This position is located on the Boston campus as NU's faculty and student interactions are in-person; however, this position does have opportunities for a flexible working schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree required, Master's preferred in health/medical, education, or computer technology.
  • 1+ years of experience working in a simulation center, clinical or patient care environment.
  • Teaching or presentation experience preferred.
  • 1+ year working with simulation management software and human patient simulators
  • Experience working with a standardized patients/patient actors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including public speaking.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines (PT, PA, Nursing, Speech, Counseling, Pharmacology) and interprofessional teams.
