Assistant Professor, Physiological Psychology
Lafayette College
Easton, PA
The Department of Psychology at Lafayette College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2022. We seek applicants with expertise in Physiological Psychology. Area of specialization is open but priority will be given to those who use animal or computational models. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field, experience teaching undergraduates, and an active research program. The department especially welcomes applications from candidates who will contribute to Lafayette’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
The candidate will be expected to regularly teach a laboratory course in Physiological Psychology and should be able to teach one or more of the following: Introductory Psychology, Statistics, and/or Research Design. Candidates may also have the opportunity to teach courses such as Psychopharmacology or Sensation & Perception depending on their area of expertise. The teaching load is 2/2 in the first year, and 3/2 thereafter. All faculty members are expected to involve undergraduates in research and to mentor them in independent scholarship. The Department of Psychology (within the Division of Natural Sciences) expects all of its members to maintain active, productive, sustained programs of scholarship that result in publications. We offer competitive start-up funds and space for research in a well-equipped psychology and neuroscience building. More information about the department is available at http://psychology.lafayette.edu.
Applications should be submitted to http://apply.interfolio.com/92812. Submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, and a statement of scholarly interests, and arrange for three confidential letters of recommendation to be sent to Jennifer M. Talarico, Department Head of Psychology, through the Interfolio site. In the cover letter, candidates should address how their teaching and research will support Lafayette’s commitment to diversity and inclusion articulated in the College’s diversity statement (http://www.lafayette.edu/about/diversity-statement). Review of applications will begin October 1 and continue until the position is filled.
