ASSISTANT PROFESSORS IN APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS & EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY: The Psychology Department at the University of Illinois Springfield invites applications for two tenure-system Assistant Professor positions beginning August 16, 2022. These are full-time on-campus position tenure-track academic appointments. UIS tenure-system faculty are expected to be available and engaged in the campus community, with assigned professional responsibilities for teaching, scholarship, and service.

Responsibilities:

 

Applied Behavior Analysis Assistant Professor - Teaching responsibilities would include undergraduate courses such as applied behavior analysis, psychology of motivation, principles of psychology (introductory psychology), research methods, senior seminar, and courses in the candidate’s specialty area.

 

Educational Psychology Assistant Professor - Teaching responsibilities would include undergraduate courses such as educational psychology, exceptional child, principles of psychology (introductory psychology), research methods, senior seminar, and courses in the candidate’s specialty area.

 

The candidates will be expected to teach some courses in an online format. Normal teaching load is three courses per semester. College teaching experience is preferred, and experience pursuing innovative and engaging teaching strategies is desirable. The applicants should demonstrate potential for scholarship and/or research in a specialty area. Opportunities to mentor undergraduate research are available.

 

Qualifications: The successful candidates should have a Ph.D. in Psychology with specialized training in Behavior Analysis with an emphasis in applied work or Educational Psychology from an accredited university prior to the start date.
