Position Purpose

The Communication Disorders Program at the University of Central Missouri ( UCM ) in Warrensburg invites applications for two 9-month , instructional faculty position beginning in the Fall Semester (August 2023). Responsibilities include (a) clinical supervision in Welch-Schmidt Center for Communication Disorders, (b) limited teaching in the undergraduate and/or graduate programs, and © engaging in program, university, and discipline service. Preference for one position will be given to individuals with experience in the healthcare setting; preference will be given for the second position for individuals with experience in the school setting working with autism.

The UCM Communication Disorders program offers a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. The program has held accreditation since 1969 from the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Housed within the program is the Welch- Schmidt Center for Communication Disorders ( WSCCD ). The WSCCD provides student clinicians with on-campus diagnostic and treatment experiences involving individuals across the lifespan and with a wide range of communication and/or swallowing disorders at various levels of severity. On-campus clinical training is supported by specialty clinics that feature state-of-the- art materials, instruments, and facilities. Additionally, on-campus clinical training is supplemented by a variety of off-campus clinical opportunities.

Required Qualifications: – Possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology ( CCC - SLP ) for a minimum of 9 months prior to employment. – Hold or be eligible to obtain Missouri licensure.

Preferred Qualifications: Posses experience instructing and mentoring student clinicians, experience teaching at the university level, and experience building and sustaining a clinical caseload.
