The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is accepting applicants for an Assistant Registrar for Graduation. This position is a critical responsibility in the Registrar's Office. This position is responsible for completing degree audits for all graduating undergraduate and graduate students who are graduating from The Citadel. The position is also responsible for providing support during Commencement in May.

Job Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, is responsible for the coordination of the undergraduate graduation process. Performs related work as directed. Performance is based upon completion of assignments/duties and results obtained.
  • Coordinates the graduation process from review of application through final graduation clearance for undergraduate students in degree programs. This includes: Posting notices of graduation application due dates/procedures via email and on college's website; Reviewing graduation applications; Ordering diplomas; Reviewing student computerized degree audits; Confirming completion of graduation requirements; Notifying students, academic advisors and academic department heads of discrepancies and ineligibility for graduation; Ensuring accurate, friendly, professional customer service in graduation activities; Ensuring that graduation activities are conducted in compliance with established policies and procedures; Developing and maintaining manual for undergraduate graduation; Processes course substitutions and grade replacements for undergraduate students.
  • Reviews new programs and program revisions with Registrar.
  • Collaborates with Transfer Coordinator to ensure that degree audits are up-to-date with transfer credits included.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and progressive experience that includes work in an academic environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Employee must possess the ability to exercise independent judgment to apply facts and principles for developing approaches and techniques to resolve problems. Additionally, employee must have the ability to evaluate, audit, deduce and/or assess data using established criteria. Employee must also have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff and the general public and represent the college in a friendly, courteous and professional manner. Employee must also possess working knowledge of computer principles and procedures. Experience with Banner software and Cognos report writing is desirable.
