Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is searching for a strategic academic administrator to join HSHS St John’s College of Nursing as our new Chancellor. St John’s College of Nursing is in Springfield Illinois on our flagship hospital campus. This role reports directly to the HSHS St John’s Hospital Chief Nursing Officer.   This highly visible and mission driven leader serves as the Chief Executive Officer of College affairs. Collaboration with Board of Directors, community partners, HSHS Hospital leadership, and College faculty, staff, and students to drive performance and growth.  The right candidate has demonstrated experience as nursing faculty with progressive expansion of scope in previous or current position as this role is responsible for day-to-day operations and accreditation outcomes.

Our ideal candidate is collaborative nursing academic leader that engages staff and students with positive relationships and effective problem-solving skills. This influential leader ensures top tier education through monitoring staff performance and strategic expansion of programs. After 136 years of nursing education in Springfield, St John’s College of Nursing just expanded to a secondary site in partnership with Greenville University fall 2023.

Minimum Requirements:

• MSN Required, DNP required 2 years of teaching experience required 3 years of academic administration required 2 years of progressive leadership experience required within nursing education Active unrestricted nursing licensure in IL required within 6 months of hire
