Seeking full-time specialist in the instruction of Spanish language and culture of the Spanish­ speaking world. One year contract sabbatical replacement, for academic year 2023-24.

Primary duties include teaching three 4-credit Spanish courses per semester - a combination of language and topics courses on culture, literature and/or cinema taught in Spanish and in-person office hours twice a week. Other responsibilities include mentoring students in the Spanish Program, close collaboration with colleagues in Modem Languages, and participation in campus community gatherings. There are no committee or administrative responsibilities.

Qualifications

Native or near-native proficiency and experience teaching college or university students required. Instructors must have at minimum an MA or be ABD in Spanish. Specialization in Second Language Acquisition and language-teaching methodology preferred. The candidate we seek has innovative language teaching skills, demonstrated expertise in Spanish instruction at various levels, and familiarity with technologies that aid learning and communication, e.g., Zoom, Teams.
