Position Summary

The University at Buffalo, Department of Electrical Engineering is seeking a part-time Electrical Engineering Support Specialist. The selected candidate will be expected to assist in conducting research on wireless UAV networking, mmWave communications, AI/ML for/by wireless and software radio development. Self-motivated candidates with background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Duties will Include:
  • Assisting in the design, implementation and maintainence of microwave and mmWave software radio for projects related to zero-touch wireless UAV networking;
  • Aiding in the management, collection, and analyzation of research data, and providing input for conclusions based on data
  • managing and preparing research reports and supporting the PI in project team formation and supports recruiting technical staffing;
  • Overseeing and organizing division of responsibilities of graduate students, student assistants, and temporary workers plus supervises deliverables; and
  • Assisting in coordinating the team’s work with external collaborators.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, or an other closely related discipline. The education and experience requirements described may be satisfied by an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong background in wireless communications and networking; Programming skills in Python/C/C++;
  • U.S Citizenship is required as per terms of the sponsor agreement

  • Research experience in applied optimization, machine learning or software radio development

$15.00 - $45.00 per hour
