Job Description:

The UF Health Cancer Center (UFHCC) invites applications of interest for a faculty position at the level of Associate or Full Professor with a cancer disparities and health equity research focus. The selected candidate will be expected to establish a program of research in areas relating to cancer health disparities and health equity and will have expertise in community engaged research, multidisciplinary team science, as well as translation and dissemination of evidence-based research.

Responsibilities include research, teaching, and active participation in the home department and College. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for a leadership role in the Florida-California Cancer Research, Education, and Engagement (CaRE2) Health Equity Center. The CaRE2 Center is a collaboration between the University of Florida (UF), Florida A&M University (FAMU), and the University of Southern California-Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center (USC-NCCC) to eliminate cancer health disparities in Florida, California, and nationally. The long-term goals of the CaRE2 center are to reduce cancer disparities in Blacks and Latinos, to train and increase the pool of underrepresented Black and Latino scientists conducting health disparity research, to increase research capacity at FAMU, and to increase cancer disparity research at UF and USC-NCCC.

Academic appointment and tenure will be in the appropriate College and Department at the associate professor or full professor rank commensurate with experience and accomplishment. Compensation includes an excellent benefits package.

Expected Salary:

Negotiable; Commensurate with Education & Experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must have a doctoral degree in relevant public health and population science fields such as health disparities, health equity, epidemiology, behavioral science, or a MD degree with additional research training.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is an established investigator with a strong reputation in scholarship, as evidenced by a proven track record of independent externally peer-reviewed cancer research funding, extensive publication experience; and, the expertise and desire to take on a leadership role in the CaRE2 Center. Faculty with professional (MD) and/or PhD degrees at Associate or Full Professor rank are encouraged to apply. Experience in research program leadership and administration, research education, and training is desirable. Opportunities for clinical practice are available through our Health Science Center Colleges.
