Job Summary/Basic Function
The Intake Coordinator will be stationed at the receptionist desk located at the entrance of the Undergraduate Student Success Center. He/she will be the official greeter of students, staff, and other visitors who desire to meet with an Academic Advisor, a Retention Specialist, the FYE Coordinator, or one of the directors. This position includes significant interaction with students, faculty, administration, and staff. Customer service, public relations, and excellent communication skills are a must. The Intake Coordinator will also provide clerical support to the Director of Academic Coaching and Advising as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
• Greeting students and visitors
• Answering the phone, taking messages, and directing phone calls accordingly
• Maintaining a clear and concise sign-in log
• Sending students to their respective advisors or respective areas in an orderly fashion
• Ensuring the reception area remains tidy and orderly
• Serves as co-supervisor for student employees
• Performs other appropriate duties as assigned by the Director.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
• Ability to type accurately
• Ability to take accurate phone messages
• Excellent customer service skills
• General office skills and familiarity with computers
• Must enjoy working with the public
• Must maintain strict confidentiality
• Must be detail oriented, reliable, efficient, and conscientious
• Integrity, punctuality, and dependability
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is a plus
Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma
• 3-5 years of office support experience
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficient in the use of word processing software and data entry
• Able to work in team environment
• Ability to provide quality service to student and parents
