Assistant Professor WOT (Pediatric) – Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine

 

The University of Washington Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine at Seattle Children's Hospital has two academic anesthesiologist positions available at the rank of Assistant Professor.  These positions are without tenure by reason of funding and candidates may be hired as either full-time or part-time with a 12-month service period (July 1 - June 30).  The anticipated start date is July 2023 or thereafter.  The base salary range for these positions will be $29,167 - $33,334 per month ($350,004 - $400,008 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.  This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University.  Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations.  Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through the CUMG practice plan.  Compensation provided by the CUMG practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.  For practitioners holding an appointment in the physicians practice plan, see the link for additional benefits that may be available at CUMG:  https://faculty.uwmedicine.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/CUMG-Benefits-Summary-for-recruiting.pdf.  Duties include the teaching of residents, fellows and medical students and oversight of the clinical care team.  Successful candidates will provide pediatric anesthesia services  University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

 

Qualifications

Must have MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent).  Must be Board certified or eligible (or foreign equivalent) in anesthesiology and must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington.  Must have a minimum of one-year fellowship training (or foreign equivalent) in pediatric anesthesia.  In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the US Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
