The Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC), a division of Westchester Community College, is seeking an experienced, energetic, innovative, results oriented professional to join its team. Located in Yonkers, NY, this non-traditional adult education institution provides tuition-free academic and vocational training to eligible underserved adults seeking to develop basic academic and vocational skills competencies and credentials needed for enrollment in college and/or entry into the workforce. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Seeking energetic and engaging Adjunct Faculty to teach Medical Billing and Coding  and/or Medical Administrative Assistant. Successful candidates will deliver a Medical Billing and Coding curriculum that prepares students to qualify for employment in entry-level positions such as medical coder/biller, medical biller/customer service rep, medical records clerk/assistant, and insurance claims clerk and to successfully pass a national billing and coding exam. The Adjunct Faculty will also deliver a Medical Administrative Assistant curriculum that prepares students for a variety of administrative support positions in the health care field and to successfully pass a national medical administrative assistant  and electronic health record specialist exams. Successful candidates must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population and have the ability to work effectively with students who have barriers to employment.  Specify day/evening availability.

 
Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a Master's Degree in the field to be taught from a recognized college or university with one year of practical experience in that field.   Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required; the ability to establish a rapport with students and maintain an environment that supports learning and promotes student retention; experience teaching remotely; and experience using an LMS and Google Classrooms.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience teaching adult learners and at-risk populations strongly preferred. Organization and detail orientation skills are also strongly preferred.

SALARY & BENEFITS: The hourly rate of pay is $82.57.  This position is fully grant funded.
