Our growing and vibrant music program has thriving majors in Music Industry, Music Technology, and a liberal arts major in Music. Our curriculum combines the study of popular genres, global music traditions, and European art music, examining contemporary music and evaluating the intersection of music and commerce with respect to its cultural and societal context.

We seek a versatile scholar who would be responsible for teaching a broad range of on-ground / in-person courses on musical practices and repertoire. Possible teaching might include "Writing about Music", genre and repertoire courses within the candidate's area of expertise (e.g. "Jazz History", "History of Rock", "American Roots Music") as well as the development of new courses to serve students as they navigate the 21st-century musical landscape.

Qualifications:

Applicants should have excellent written and oral communication skills, a graduate degree in music (terminal degree preferred), and experience teaching at the college level.

Additionally, ideal candidates will have an appreciation for the value of a liberal arts education and music’s role in the campus community as well as experience engaging a diverse student body with diverse interests.
